Quick answer

Personify Financial lends $500 to $15,000 in 25 of its 27 states. Georgia is $3,100–$10,000 and Hawaii starts at $1,600. The amount you're offered depends on verified income and credit; first-time subprime borrowers are usually offered a fraction of the maximum.

Georgia$3,100$10,000
Hawaii$1,600$15,000

What you're likely to be offered

A published maximum is not a promise. Lenders size an offer to what your bank activity suggests you can repay: typically a monthly payment well under 10%–15% of verified monthly income after existing obligations. With a 500-something score and $3,000 a month in deposits, an opening offer of $1,000–$3,000 is normal; $10,000+ usually goes to borrowers with higher income and some positive history.

Monthly payment by amount

Three scenarios: a good Personify offer (36% APR, 24 months), a typical one (100% APR, 36 months) and the worst case (179.5% APR, 48 months).

$15,000$886$1,324$2,247

Before fees. Notice that the worst-case monthly payment on $15,000 is about $2,247 — and the total repaid is about $107,834. Large amounts at high APR are where borrowers get into trouble. Run your own scenario →

How to pick an amount

  1. Start from the bill, not the limit. If the car repair is $1,400, request $1,500, not $5,000.
  2. Check the payment against your budget. If it is more than 10%–15% of take-home pay, shrink the amount or the term.
  3. Remember the fee. A 5.99% origination fee on $5,000 adds about $300 to the balance.
  4. Plan the payoff. No prepayment penalty means borrowing slightly more "to be safe" is still a mistake — borrow less, keep a buffer, and repay early.

Why the offer is smaller than the request

Lenders in this category set the amount from cash flow, not from the number you typed. The model estimates a payment you can carry — usually a modest share of verified monthly deposits after rent, existing debits and overdraft patterns — and backs into the principal from there. A first-time applicant who asks for $10,000 and is offered $2,500 has not been "rejected"; the lender has priced the risk it can see. Repeat borrowers with on-time history are typically offered more and at a lower APR, which is the one way the amount grows over time.

Georgia and Hawaii: why the minimums differ

Georgia's Industrial Loan Act governs loans of $3,000 and under with its own rate schedule, so Personify's Georgia affiliate starts at $3,100 and caps at $10,000 under its installment-lender licence. Hawaii's installment-loan statute sets a $1,600 floor for the product class. Everywhere else the $500 minimum applies. If you live in Georgia and need less than $3,100, Personify is not an option — a credit union PAL or a lender in our network that serves Georgia is.

Using a $5,000–$15,000 loan to consolidate

Consolidation only helps when the new APR is lower than the weighted APR of what you're paying off. Replacing three payday loans at 400% with a 120% installment loan helps a lot; replacing credit cards at 29% with a 120% loan is a mistake, however tidy one payment feels. Add up what you owe, what each costs, and compare to the offer's total-of-payments line before you sign.

Small loans ($500–$2,000)

This is where Personify competes directly with payday and title lenders, and where its 12–48-month terms are a real advantage: a $1,000 payday loan is due in two weeks; a $1,000 Personify loan over 12 months at 150% APR is about $165 a month. Credit-union PALs ($200–$2,000, ≤28% APR) remain cheaper if you can get one.

Larger loans ($5,000–$15,000)

At these amounts, a prime lender at 6%–36% APR saves thousands. If your score is 600+, request through a network (like ours) that includes prime lenders before accepting a triple-digit offer. If your score is lower and you must borrow this much, choose the shortest term you can afford and pay extra whenever possible.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a $500 loan from Personify?

Yes in most lending states; $500 is the published minimum. Georgia's minimum is $3,100 and Hawaii's is $1,600.

Can I get $15,000 with bad credit?

The maximum exists, but first-time bad-credit borrowers are commonly offered far less. Larger amounts require stronger income and cash flow. Georgia caps loans at $10,000.

Can I request more than $15,000?

Not from Personify. Our request form also caps at $15,000; some lenders in our network offer more to qualified borrowers.

Can I take a second Personify loan?

Personify offers refinancing to repeat borrowers in good standing rather than stacking a second loan.

Does the amount I request affect my APR?

Indirectly. Larger amounts relative to income are riskier and may be priced higher or reduced; the APR is mainly driven by your credit and cash-flow profile.

Can I increase my loan after funding?

Not on the same loan. Repeat borrowers in good standing may refinance for a larger amount.

Is there a minimum loan amount in my state?

$500 in 25 states; $3,100 in Georgia; $1,600 in Hawaii. See the states page for details.
